My subscriber number is showing on my account - how do I hide the subscriber count on my channel?

I can no longer find the settings to stop showing my subscriber count!

Unfortunately, YouTube has disabled this feature as of 2022. Subscriber count is now public to all. Channels that previously had it hidden are now showing the subscriber number.

The aim was to help curb 'catfish' accounts from scamming viewers and pretending to be big channels.
